Disclaimer:I have no idea how far this is true so please do not quote me on this.Follow at ur own risk.
Y'day in class we were going through some interesting stuff, including, "Why the Atkins Diet works". Now I dont know how this is true but I liked the explanation that was given, considering it came from a surgeon (did I mention how good looking he was??),who def knew more than me I wasnt gonna debate.Plus I aint much of a dieter, but I liked the logic used in this case.
(I wont go into too much detail.)He was saying that according to Atkin, you can eat all the fat in the world, not have to do any exercise, as long as you stop ur carbhohydrates.By cuttin the supply of carbho to the body, you are tricking the body into using the stored fat to digest the fatty food you have eaten.
Consequence?Well all the fat you just ate will get digested along with your stored fat which was used to digest the food!
Result?You will lose weight!!
Hmm...now all of us were wondering, "There has got to be some side effect..?"
Well Guess wat? There is none.
Too hard to believe...even I felt the same way. But then we were told this actually works.
Have we found the miracle diet that is every girl's dream??I wonder
Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life.Like those you can call at 4 am,it is those who read every crappy thing you write that matter. Here's to my friends!!Cheers

What so funny??!!
Its one of my extra HAPPY days, when I feel I am on top of the world and nothing can
dampen my spirits.Everything feels just perfect.Even if someone yells and screams at me, I jus simply smile back at them.I am more happy than I usually am.
My colleague has been asking me "whats so funny?", cos I cant seem to stop smiling. The weather has been good.Work has been fairly manageable.I feel like I am in form, confident and of course so full of energy, that I can climb Mount Everest by the end of the day. There is a skip in my step, humming a catchy tune. But I actually feel like gettin up and dancing away!
This is one of those days when I count my blessings and then count them twice. For I couldnt be better.I love my job, love my course and I am able to dance (as opposed to last yr this time when I was upset to be on a break from dancing).
Cant wait to leave office and go to class.Did I ever mention that I am lucky enough to be able to catch the sunrise in the east and also the sunset in the west? One of the perks of working in the east and studying in the west.
I Love my Life!

Little things that count
I always believe that little things can make a big impact. Its these little things that have kept me going, especially when I rush from one place to the next.So I thought I should blog about them.
1.The lovely canteen lady who makes hot (and awesome tasting) aloo paratas (potato stuffed paratas) specially for me on days I am rushing to class. If she has made me wait, then she will make them extra large size.Never have to go hungry to class.
2.The taxi drivers who on hearing 'uncle, NTU please' will break into a smile and tell me how hardworking I am (good to hear a compliment once in a while) and reassure me that they will make sure I reach class on time. Some of them will also ask me to have my dinner (the hot aloo paratas) in the taxi itself.
3.My colleagues who make it a point to ask 'Do you have class today?' before setting up any evening meetings.
4.My dear friends who msg and mail "Best of Luck" and "Dont get stressed out" to me every now and then.
5.Vicky (who frequents my blog) promptly replies to my queries and offers help whenever I ask.
6.My dance teacher who doesnt schedule rehearsal on days when I have class.
7.The van that goes from NTU to Boon Lay, where I always get a seat and reach Boon Lay a good 10 mins ahead of the crammy 179 (Thanks to Sayesha for telling me about it).
Whenever I think of any of them, I just feel like smiling. These gestures have made my life so much easier.

Its my Life!
Start of yet another week :)
I am looking forward to it.The weekend was great,as usual I had my share of fun!I didnt go for the A.R.Rahman show, I actually sold my ticket.A lot of people thought I was crazy to do that. All my friends were going. It was supposed to be THE concert to go to.I asked myself, can I afford the time?I cudnt.
Office has given me 4 days of exam leave because of a major project. That meant I had to sit and study during the weekends.I really wanted to go for the show. But as the weeks passed by, I was gettin less and less time to study because I was going to office on saturdays and dance classes seemed to stretch from 3 to 5 hours.Eventually I had to take the decision of simply not going for the concert.
After the concert,I heard stories about how spectacular it was and how awesome it felt being there.Deep inside me I heard a reassuring voice go "Its ok da, next time..." and I smiled, to myself.
I did not regret not going, because I did manage to spend some time studying.I gave myself a pat on the back for being able to get my priorities in place.
There have been a lot of times when been told "You are crazy" because I did not do something or did not like something that everyone else did.I am an individual, I am entitled to my living the way I want to.
The few occasions I have gone to a club, within 5 mins, I left and went outside. Why?I wasnt going to torture myself and sit in a smoke filled place, with people standing so close to you.At the same time, I did not expect my friends to follow me out.
There have been times when I have felt that spending more than $20 on clothes is beyond my budget, espcially if I dont need them badly. There have been times when I have blown money on gettin gifts for close friends. But that is me.I dont understand why anyone else should have a problem.
I hate it when people (this excludes all my friends) who dont know me very well come along and tell me what I am doing is right/wrong and worse still, expect me to follow the crowd, jus cos everyone else is doing the same.
No sir, This is my life!

My Dil Goes Mmmm
Salaam|Namaste
Watched it y'day.I really enjoyed myself, proper stress reliever.More than the movie, the songs are stuck in my head.nearly all the songs are very catchy, I seem to be jumping up and down in my head everytime the words "Salaam Namaste" play in my head. But my favourite song was the slower one "Tu Jahan".
I think the thing I liked most about the movie was MELBOURNE!!I cant believe they actually stayed on The Great Ocean Road!Oh man, I would love that happening, wake up and see the antartic ocean every morning.Long drives (as long as I am not doing the driving) on that road. The chilly ocean breeze hitting the face.It was refreshing to see Australia instead of the usual America or Switzerland in the background.
(How they managed to drive fm the great ocean road to the city so fast, beats me though, it can be a good 2-4 hours, but I guess tt is bollywood)

Rain Time
It was raining today. As I looked out the glass, I could see the rain drops fall. There was so much co-ordination in the way they were coming down. From a distance they looked a like a beautifully tied glass curtain.
These days it usually rains while I am sitting at work.Never whn I am leaving work...aarrrggghhh
I realised that after leaving university, I havent gone out and "played" in the rain.Oh those wonderful days, when I would happily dance around or go for a long walk in the rain.I would look up and close my eyes and feel the rain falling on my face. I would be shivering but I loved the whole sensation. The rain just made me feel so wonderful that I would forget how long I was actually gettin drenched for.
Then I would take a long hot shower, wrap myself with a blanket and watch some movie or sitcom while sipping hot coffee or nibbling a cold ice cream. My perfect day would just feel more perfect!
I miss those days! *sigh*

Simple story
I woke up this morning and suddenly realised
"Damn, its already september..?"
My life seems to be simply going from one day to the next. Not sure when y'day ends and today begins.I have been having my fair share of fun, so I m not gonna complain.Work has been hectic, sometimes I wake up at 4.30am to reach office by 6 am.I know that is crazy, but did that the whole of last week cos I had a lot of work.Sometimes weekend also I need to go to work.
But otherwise, weekends were good, went to the Kulfi Bar a few times. That is a cool hangout place that I have fallen in love with.great ambience, decent kulfi and great couches to sit and chit chat. Went to a couple of new places in Clarke Quay. I have been happy that I am discovering more of Singapore now, so not gettin bored of going to the same places like Orchard or CityHall.
Even thought my life is very stressful at times, overall, I like it.It feels like every now and then something comes along to just perk me up..
